Motorola has been working diligently to get the new Froyo (Android 2.2) update ready and they’ve created a way for users to signup for a forum thread to receive email updates regarding the release of Android 2.2 for the Droid. Users must signup for an account at Motorola’s Website in order to receive updates, but by creating an account could be notified of other updates as well.
