Android Google Play Edition Camera Now Available for Download

The stock camera from the new Google Play Edition phones has been made available for download / install by the team over at XDA.

The stock camera from the new Google Play Edition phones has been made available for download / install by the team over at XDA. It’s being reported that it works on any Android phone – without requiring root access – and that all features are functioning as expected. In addition to the camera, the install also comes with the stock Android gallery app.

To get the app, follow these simple steps:

  1. Visit XDA and download the APK file from here
  2. Tap on the file when it finishes downloading and it will prompt you to install
  3. Enable installing apps from unknown sources in your phone‘s settings (phone should prompt you to do so if not already enabled)
